Babar Azam And Shan Masood Record: The second and last Test of the two-match Test series is being played between Pakistan and South Africa in Cape Town. In this match, Pakistan captain Shan Masood and former captain Babar Azam did wonders and broke a 22-year-old record by making a partnership of 205 runs. Babar and Shan Masood made this partnership on the third day of the match.
After the end of the day, Masood remained at the crease after scoring a century, while Babar Azam returned to the pavilion even before completing his century. Babar and Shan Masood made a partnership of 205 runs for the first wicket. Babar scored 81 runs with the help of 10 fours. By the end of the third day, Shan Masood had scored 102 runs with the help of 14 fours.
Babar and Masood broke 22 years old record
By making a partnership of 205 runs, Babar Azam and Shan Masood broke the record of making the biggest opening partnership for Pakistan against South Africa. Earlier in 2003, in the match played in Faisalabad, Pakistan’s Imran Farhat and Taufiq Omar had made an opening partnership of 137 runs against South Africa.
Situation of the match after three days
After completion of three innings of the match, Pakistan, batting in its second innings, has put 213/1 runs on the board. Captain Shan Masood and Khurram Shehzad are present at the crease for the team. Currently Pakistan is behind by 208 runs in the match.
Batting first in the match, South Africa had put 615/10 runs on the board in the first innings. During this, Rickelton played the biggest innings for the team and scored 259 runs with the help of 29 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from this, captain Temba Bavuma and Verin played century innings. Bavuma scored 106 runs with the help of 9 fours and 2 sixes and Verin scored 100 runs with the help of 9 fours and 5 sixes. After this, Pakistan was all out for 194 runs in the first innings and South Africa gave them follow-on, after which the team came out to bat in the second innings.
