Australia vs Sri Lanka Squad Announcement Test Series: The 2 test match series between Australia and Sri Lanka will start from January 29. The Australian team has been announced for that series, in which Pat Cummins is nowhere to be seen. Steve Smith has been given the captaincy, while Travis Head will be the vice-captain of the team. Actually, Pat Cummins is soon going to become a father for the second time, due to which he has taken rest from the series against Sri Lanka. Under the captaincy of Cummins, Australia defeated Team India 3-1 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Steve Smith has got the captaincy again, Travis Head will be the vice-captain of the Australian team. Nathan McSweeney, who made his debut in the series against India, has been given another chance. Sam Constance played a brilliant inning of 60 runs in his debut against Team India. However, after that he could not perform anything special. Nevertheless, he has been successful in securing a place in the team for the series against Sri Lanka.
Scott Boland, who took 10 wickets in the Sydney Test and 21 wickets in the entire series after playing 3 matches, will be handling the fast bowling. In the bowling department, Boland will be getting support from Mitchell Starc and Shaun Abbott. Debutant Beau Webster, who played innings of 57 and 39 runs in the two innings of the last Test against Team India, has also reserved his place in the team.
