IND vs AUS 2nd Test Border Gavaskar Trophy: India’s second innings in Adelaide Test ended on the score of 175 runs. Since Australia had taken a lead of 157 runs in the first innings, to win the match the Kangaroo team will now have to score only 19 runs to win. Young Nitish Reddy was once again the top-scoring player for Team India. Actually, it was he who saved the Indian team from the innings defeat, but he too could not take his innings beyond 42 runs.
The Indian team extended its innings on the third day with a score of 128 at the loss of 5 wickets. Rishabh Pant lost his wicket in the very first over of the third day. Nitish Reddy stood firm from one end but could not take the Indian innings to a big score. If the Kangaroo team wins, its winning streak in pink-ball Test matches in Adelaide will continue. Australia has played 7 pink ball tests in Adelaide so far and has won every time.
Pat Cummins wreaked havoc
While Mitchell Starc wreaked havoc on the Indian batting in the first innings, this time Pat Cummins shook the batting line-up of Team India by taking 5 wickets in the innings. Cummins also took the wickets of KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin and Harshit Rana in the second innings. His most special wicket was that of Nitish Reddy, who looked in good touch. Cummins made a brilliant set-up and got a catch towards third man.
India may have been able to set the target of only 19 runs, but Indian cricket has definitely got a world-class all-rounder player in the form of Nitish Reddy. Reddy did not prove to be very effective in bowling, but he was the top-scorer for India in both the innings of the Adelaide Test.
