DDCA Elections 2024, Kirti Azad Vs Rohan Jaitley: Election for the post of President of Delhi and District Cricket Association is to be held after 5 days. This time there is a contest between former cricketer and leader Kirti Azad and current president Rohan Jaitley. Rohan Jaitley is the son of the country’s eminent lawyer and leader, late Arun Jaitley. Meanwhile, Kirti Azad held a press conference and raised questions on the work of Rohan Jaitley and also asked some tough questions.
With the slogan ‘If it doesn’t change now, it will never change’, Kirti Azad offered changes in DDCA. Azad told that he wants to bring changes in the functioning of DDCA. Also, their aim is to bring a respectable change in the image of Indian cricket and players.
Addressing the media, Kirti Azad said, “The members of DDCA have been deprived of proper status for a long time. The grants received by the association have been mismanaged. The accounts are not being properly audited. The members of the association “The DDCA has been deprived of the facilities it deserves. Above all, the DDCA under the leadership of Rohan Jaitley has failed to upgrade the stadium as promised.”
Kirti Azad raised questions on the current DDCA panel over mismanagement of funds, distribution of tickets among members of their choice, ignoring development at the grassroots level and lack of participation of members. He made it clear that if he becomes the president then transparency will be seen in DDCA.
Meanwhile, Secretary post candidate Sanjay Bhardwaj also took the side of Kirti Azad. Between 1986 and 1989, he represented Delhi in the Ranji Trophy. He has played with greats like Kirti Azad, Madan Lal, Mohinder Amarnath, Surinder Khanna, Raman Lamba, Sanjay Bhardwaj.
In 2018, Sanjay entered DDCA politics and became an ideal candidate with the vision of improving cricket. He was the first person to go on a hunger strike against corruption in DDCA, fighting for better facilities and transparency for members.
