Ashneer Grover Update: BharatPe’s co-founder Ashneer Grover has given such a statement on the recruitment process in companies that many people may not like. He said, he believes in the Hire Fast and Fire Fast approach. Ashneer Grover has said these things in a podcast with Limitless with Ishaan Sharma.
Ashneer Grover said that companies waste a lot of time in hiring any person and then give that person a long time to prove himself which can be up to a year. Ashneer Grover said, what I have understood about hiring till now is that hire fast fire fast and most people do not agree with this. Right now a lot of time is being invested in hiring someone which takes multiple rounds. Then the candidate also remains efficient in his behavior. When the candidate presents himself for selection, the salesman inside him is reflected. But in the end whether he will be able to do the work or not, you will know only when you give him a task.
Ashneer Grover said that sometimes people are successful in selling themselves. I believe that we spend three months in identifying the candidate, after that the candidate serves a notice period of two months and we keep waiting for two months. We spend six months in all this. Once the candidate joins, we give him the same time to prove himself. After a year you come to know that the candidate is not right. He said that it is best that you do local optimization. You decide that you need a candidate in a week or 15 days. You hire him quickly. Judge him on the basis of his work and it is not difficult to find out who works and who does not. That is why I am saying hire fast fire fast.
