Ashish Nehra On Gautam Gambhir: India had to face defeat by 32 runs in the second ODI against Sri Lanka. After this defeat, many questions were raised on the strategy of Team India. Now former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra has criticized head coach Gautam Gambhir. Actually, Ashish Nehra believes that the strategy of Indian team’s head coach Gautam Gambhir is not right. He said that for this series, some other player should have been tried instead of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Both these players should have been given rest.
Ashish Nehra said that I know Gautam Gambhir is new as a coach, he wants to spend some time with experienced players, but I believe that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma should have been given rest for this series. Other players could have been tried in place of these two players. Ashish Nehra further says that Gautam Gambhir is not a foreign coach who wants to establish a proper coordination with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Young players should have got a chance in place of these two senior players.
Actually, Rohit Sharma has performed well in this series, but Virat Kohli has been seen struggling. In the first ODI of this series, Rohit Sharma played a good innings of 58 runs in 47 balls, but Virat Kohli got out after scoring 24 runs in 32 balls. After this, in the second ODI, Rohit Sharma scored 64 runs in 44 balls, but Virat Kohli went to the pavilion after scoring 14 runs in 19 balls. Let us tell you that the first ODI of this series was a tie. But in the second ODI, Sri Lanka defeated Team India by 32 runs.
