IPL 2025 Rules: The IPL Governing Council announced the rules for the players on Saturday (September 28). These rules were eagerly awaited before IPL 2025. A total of 8 rules were mentioned in the pointer on the official website of IPL, out of which one rule looked very interesting. The rules are such that they correct the mind of the players who indulge in selfishness. So let us know what is this rule of IPL.
In this rule, the noose has been tightened on those players who withdraw their names after being sold in the auction of the tournament, like England fast bowler Mark Wood did during IPL 2024. Wood was bought by Lucknow Supergiants for Rs 7.50 crore, but he withdrew his name citing workload management.
Information was given about a total of 8 rules by the IPL, in which the sixth rule is about banning for not participating in the tournament after being sold out.
The rule states, “Any player who registers for the Player Auction and, after being selected in the auction, makes himself unavailable before the start of the season, will be banned from participating in the tournament and the Player Auction for 2 seasons.” “Will be done.”
It is necessary for foreign players to register in big auctions
This rule has also been approved by IPL that foreign players will have to register for the big auction. If foreign players do not register themselves for the big auction, they will not be eligible to register for next year’s player auction.
Teams will be able to retain 6 players
In the mega auction held before the 2022 IPL, teams had the option to retain only four players. Now before the mega auction of 2025, teams will be able to retain a total of 6 players, which will include a maximum of 5 capped and 2 uncapped players.
