Big players are going to enter the fast growing quick commerce sector in the coming days. Amazon, the biggest global company of e-commerce, has already started preparations to enter the quick commerce market of India. Companies like Swiggy and Zomato are expected to face tough competition due to Amazon’s entry in this segment.
may start next year
According to a report by ET, Amazon may enter the Quick Commerce market in the Indian market early next year. The company plans to start the Quick Commerce business in the Indian market in the first quarter of the new year. The company has appointed a senior executive from its leadership team for this.
Till now the company has been denying
However, Amazon has not yet officially confirmed about entering the quick commerce business. Earlier, there were reports that Amazon has no plans to enter the quick commerce segment. This was said in many reports last month as well. ET’s report is making a completely different claim and according to it, it seems that Amazon’s attitude towards quick commerce is serious.
They have been given the responsibility
According to the report, Amazon has given the responsibility of preparing the outline of the Quick Commerce business to senior executive Nishant Sardana. Sardana was previously handling the PC, audio, camera and large appliances business in Amazon India i.e. Amazon’s Indian business. His old responsibilities will now be handled by Ranjit Babu, who was responsible for Amazon India’s wireless and home entertainment business.
These giants already exist
Recently, the influence of quick commerce has increased rapidly in the Indian market. Concepts like instant delivery and same day delivery are being liked by Indian customers. Traditional food delivery companies like Swiggy through Instamart and Zomato through Blinkit have already entered this segment. Zepto and B Basket are also working in quick commerce. Amazon’s competitor e-commerce company Flipkart has recently entered the quick commerce segment by launching Minutes. Now Amazon is also going to enter it in the next few months.
