Ashwini Dhir Son Died in Car Accident: Jalaj Dhir, 18-year-old son of Ashwini Dhir, director of Ajay Devgan starrer ‘Son of Sardar’ and ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge’, died in a major car accident in Mumbai on the morning of 23 November. He was in a car with three of his friends when their car collided with a divider on the Western Express Highway in Vile Parle. Jalaj’s friend Sahil Mendha was reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol which led to the tragic incident.

According to the report of News 18, Jalaj had gone on a drive from Bandra to Goregaon late at night with his friends. One of them, identified as 18-year-old Sahil Mendha, was driving the car and was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Near Sahara Star Hotel, Mendha lost control of the car and the car straightaway hit the divider between the service road and the bridge towards the north. Jalaj and his another friend Sarth Kaushik (18) died in this tragic accident.

18 year old Sahil Mendha, who was driving the car, has been arrested after the statement of Jaden Jimmy, who was present in the car. Police have also sent Mendha’s blood samples for alcohol test.
According to Jimmy, before the group went for a drive around 3:30 in the morning, Mendha had drank two pegs of vodka at Jalaj’s house in Goregaon. Mendha drove at a high speed of 120-150 km/hr and lost control of the car near Sahara Star Hotel, leading to the accident. While Mendha and Jimmy suffered minor injuries, Jalaj and Sarthak suffered serious injuries. Jimmy took Jalaj to the hospital, but he was later declared dead. Mendha took Sarthak to another hospital, where he was also declared dead. After this incident, Jimmy lodged a complaint with the police, which led to Mendha’s arrest.
