Indian Stock Market Closing On 6 August 2024: After Monday’s big fall, the Indian stock market started Tuesday’s trading session with a great rise due to the signals received from the Asian markets. Sensex saw a rise of more than 1100 points and Nifty saw a rise of more than 300 points. But in the afternoon, due to the fall in the European market and the sell-off in the Indian markets, the stock market lost all its gains. Banking and midcap stocks saw the most selling. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed with a fall of 13 points at 78,745 and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed with a fall of 21 points at 24,034 points.
Rising and falling stocks
Among the rising stocks in today’s trading, Godrej Properties closed with a gain of 3.49 percent, Britannia 2.81 percent, Ipca Lab 2.69 percent, IGL 1.40 percent. Apart from this, JSW Steel closed with a gain of 2.41 percent, Tech Mahindra 2.07 percent, L&T 1.62 percent, HUL 1.55 percent, Tata Steel 0.97 percent. Among the falling stocks, Marico closed with a decline of 6.49 percent, LIC Housing Finance 5 percent, Power Finance 4.82 percent, HDFC Life 4.40 percent, Bata India 2.70 percent.
Investors lost Rs 17 lakh crore in 2 days
Due to the fall in the market after noon, investors have suffered losses today as well. The market capitalization of the stocks listed on BSE closed at Rs 440.27 lakh crore, which was Rs 441.84 lakh crore in the last session. In today’s session, investors have suffered a loss of Rs 1.57 lakh crore. In two sessions, investors have suffered a loss of more than Rs 17 lakh crore.
Condition of sectors
The banking sector declined due to profit booking in banking stocks in the market, apart from this, shares of auto, pharma, energy, consumer durables, healthcare and oil and gas sector closed with a decline. While IT, media, real estate, metals, FMCG stocks closed with gains. In today’s trading, selling continued in midcap and smallcap stocks. 4028 shares were traded on BSE in which 1592 shares closed with gains and 2344 closed with losses.
