Abhishek Sharma 170 Runs Before Champions Trophy 2025: Abhishek Sharma staked his claim to be included in the team of the tournament by playing a blistering inning of 170 runs before the Champions Trophy 2025. These days, Abhishek Sharma is seen captaining Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy being played. In the match being played against Saurashtra in the tournament, the Punjab captain scored 170 runs in 96 balls with the help of 22 fours and 8 sixes. During this period his strike rate was 177.08. Abhishek had completed his century in 60 balls.
This inning of Abhishek is indicating somewhere that he can be included in the Champions Trophy team. However, it is worth noting that Abhishek has played T20 International matches for Team India till now. Abhishek is yet to make his ODI debut for Men in Blue.
The Champions Trophy is to be played from 19 February. Before this, Team India has to play a white ball series against England, which will include 5 T20 Internationals and 3 ODIs. This will be the last ODI series for the Men in Blue before the Champions Trophy. If Abhishek Sharma is considered for the Champions Trophy, he may get a chance in the ODI series against England. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy match being played against Saurashtra, Punjab, batting first, scored 424/5 runs in 50 overs. Captain Abhishek Sharma’s innings of 170 runs played an important role in helping the team reach this score. Apart from this, Prabhsimran Singh also did wonders and played an inning of 125 runs in 95 balls with the help of 11 fours and 8 sixes. Abhishek and Prabhasimran made a partnership of 298 (187 balls) runs for the first wicket.
