PM Modi On Paris Olympics 2024: These days Olympics 2024 is going on in Paris. The great Kumbh of sports i.e. Olympic Games started on Friday, 26 July. Paris Olympics is being discussed all over the world. Now Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about Paris Olympics in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, 28 July. PM appealed to cheer for Indian athletes. He told how Olympics gives our players a chance to wave the tricolor on the world stage.
Let us tell you that the Prime Minister started the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program with the Paris Olympics. PM Modi said, “At this time the Paris Olympics are in the news all over the world. The Olympics give our players a chance to hoist the tricolor on the world stage, give them a chance to do something for the country. You too should encourage your players. Cheer for India.”
India’s campaign had started even before the opening ceremony
The opening ceremony of the Olympics was held on 26 July, but India started its campaign in the Maha Kumbh of the Games a day earlier, i.e. on 25 July, Thursday. India started this Olympics with archery. Now with the passing days, players are coming on the field for different sports.
A total of 117 Indian athletes are participating in the Paris Olympics. These athletes include 70 men and 47 women. This time Indian players are expected to break the record of the last i.e. Tokyo Olympics. India had a total of 7 medals in Tokyo Olympics, including 1 gold. The 7 medals won in Tokyo were the highest number of medals for India in any Olympics. Now it will be interesting to see how many medals Indian athletes are able to reach this time in Paris.
