One of India’s most difficult exams, UPSC exam, is going to be held in May and the candidates are engaged in preparing for it with full hard work. Know who is IAS Preeti Hooda
Preity Hooda hails from Bahadurgarh, Haryana. His father was a bus driver in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). The financial condition of the family was not very good, but Preity never gave up. He decided to prepare for UPSC exam through Hindi medium and chose Hindi as an alternative subject.
Although his first attempt was unsuccessful, he did not give up. Preity took the exam again and finally fulfilled the dream of becoming an IAS officer by achieving 288th All India Rank (Air) in 2017.
Preparation to do PhD
Preity was a promising student from the beginning. He scored 77% in 10th and 87% in 12th. But due to the weak financial situation of the family, their parents wanted them to leave further studies and get married. However, Preity did not compromise her dreams and graduated in Hindi subject from Laxmibai College, Delhi. After this, he studied PhD in Hindi from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
Interestingly, Preeti had no special interest to enter government service initially. But his father wanted him to become an IAS officer. When Preeti enrolled in JNU, she got the information about UPSC exam properly for the first time. After completing his M.Phil studies, he started preparing for the Civil Services Examination.

Preity Hooda adopted a different and unique strategy for the preparation of UPSC. He believes that more than studying 10 hours without stopping for a long time, it is more important to study with the right strategy and thinking.
He said that it is also necessary to enjoy enjoying during the preparation, otherwise the study starts to be burdened. According to Preeti, instead of putting a pile of books, one should understand the syllabus carefully and focus on it. The most important thing is that revision must be done from time to time.
