Manus ai assistant: A new powerful AI tool ‘Manus’ in China is in the headlines. This new AI agent is considered more helpful than a simple chatbot. It is capable of many tasks ranging from analyzing the stock market to making personal guidebooks for trips. Let’s know in detail.
How Manus works
Manus was recently launched by Chinese Startup Butterfly Effect. Its co-founder Yichao “Peak” G called it a “new era of man and machine cooperation” and considered it an important step towards Artificial General Intelligence (Agi).
Currently, this AI tool is available only through invoice but despite this its official discord server has reached more than 1.7 lakh members. Its name is derived from the original Latin “Mens et Manus” which means “mind and hand”, which symbolizes a combination of knowledge and practical use.
How is Manus different from other AI tools?
According to Manoj Harijani, a S. Rajaratnam School of S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Manus is much better than other chatbots as it can work on behalf of users autonomously. Whereas Deepseek and Chatgpt only answer the questions given by users in the chat interface. Manus can do ticket booking, resume filtering and other real tasks automatically. Apart from this, while Deepsik was developed behind the curtain, Manus is being promoted by giving limited invite-only access and business clients.
AI censorship and sensitive issues
Deepsek was programmed to respond to the policies of the Chinese government but Manus is capable of giving fair answers without sensors. When Tianmen Square was questioned by Manus on the 1989 incident, he described it as “violent action taken by the Chinese government on pro -democracy protesters” and gave a detailed description of the incident. Manus clarified that he does not deliberately sensor any factual information. The reason behind this may be that its team has not added the content moderation in it like chatbots.
Can Manus become the next Deepsek?
According to RSIS Harajani, the success of Manus will depend on whether it is able to scale itself according to the demand or not. However, he said that Manus and Deepseek are completely different AI models, so it can be difficult for Manus to repeat the same success.
