Epfo meeting: In order to give strength to the dull Indian economy, the Government of India has put a series of convenience with the budget for the middle class and even after the budget. One announcements and promises are being made one after the other. The aim of all these is to create demand in the market to expand the consumption by increasing the cash flow in the hands of the people, so that the market can gain momentum.
Therefore, with the announcement of tax free on income up to 12 lakh 75 thousand in the budget, the Government of India can now announce to increase the interest rate on the amount deposited in PF. This is possible in the meeting of EPFO’s Central Board of Trustee to be held on February 28. The meeting will be chaired by the Union Labor Minister. Representatives of Employment Association and Trade Unions are also going to be present in this meeting.
Therefore, the rate of interest will look like
The Government of India is currently on boosting market demand. There is a variety of measures for this. Therefore, it is necessary that after tax free on income of up to 12 lakhs, the government should show people more income from some other places, so that people can increase domestic consumption more and more. Therefore, it is possible that the rate of interest on PF for 2024-25 is increased.
The Government of India has done this in the last two years. In 2022-23, the interest rate of PF was increased to 8.15 percent. It was increased to 8.25 percent in 2023-24. Therefore, given the base rate of banks, it seems possible that the interest rates received on PF can be increased only but can be increased.
PF account holders are more than seven crore
EPFO has more than seven crore account holders. According to the annual report of 2023-24, this number was seven crore 37 lakhs. Similarly, the number of people depositing money in the Pension Fund of EPFO has also been about eight lakhs.
