Match fixing in Bangladesh Premier League 2025: Cricket has once again been tainted in the matter of match fixing. This time a case of match fixing has come up in Bangladesh Premier League. In this tournament, 10 players and 4 franchises have been accused of fixing. The anti-corruption unit of Bangladesh Cricket Board has started investigating 8 matches. Bangladesh Cricket Board President Farooq Ahmed said on Friday that if a player is found involved in wrongdoing, strict action will be taken against him.
Farooq Ahmed talks about strict punishment
Farooq Ahmed while talking to Cricbuzz said that until the investigation is completed, he cannot make any official comment about it as he has to follow a protocol. All events occurring during the tournament are noted and later investigated.
He further said that if something comes to the fore in the investigation, then the punishment will be very hard, and if they find something, then the person’s life will change completely, because he will not leave any guilty. The decision will be taken once and forever, and it will be an example.

According to The Daily Star report, out of the 10 players who are being investigated, 6 are national players from Bangladesh, 2 unaccounted players and 2 foreign players. The teams in suspicion include:

Evidence of fixing in matches
These matches saw many suspicious activities, such as three consecutive wide and no-ball throwing bowlers, selection of suspected playing XI, and slow batting despite the big target.
