In view of the shortage of workers in New Zealand, the government has taken a big step. For this, some important updates have been made in the visa rules to improve the immigration process. The purpose of this change is to reduce the work experience requirement and increase the limit of work visa, which will help Indian workers as well as workers from other countries to get work here easily.
Work experience was also reduced
Earlier, to work in New Zealand it was necessary to have at least three years of experience. Now, in view of the huge shortage of workers in the country, it has been reduced to two years. New Zealand has now found two ways for seasonal workers also.
Under this, multi-entry visa with a validity of three years will be given to experienced seasonal workers and single-entry visa of seven months will be given to less experienced workers. This step has been taken keeping in mind the demand of seasonal workers. Along with this, New Zealand has also increased the two-year visa limit to three years for those jobs which fall within Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification (ANZSCO) skill level 4 or 5.
I will have to earn this much to support my family
In addition, New Zealand has now also removed the average salary criteria for Employer Work Visa (AEWV) and Specific Purpose Work Visa (SPWV). Under this new rule, while posting a job, employers can offer salary as per the market rate for the job role and location. However, they are no longer required to meet the pre-determined salary criteria.
However, now there is no average salary norm from 2025 onwards. But if an employer work visa holder wants to bring his children to New Zealand, he will have to earn 55,844 New Zealand dollars, which is approximately Rs 27 lakh annually. With this, now recognized employers are no longer required to complete the New Zealand online training module.
