He has shown amazing performance in Test as well as ODI cricket. Ashwin announced his retirement after the third Test played between India and Australia. Ashwin played the last match of the ODI format against Australia in Chennai. This match was played in October 2023. The last T20 International match was played against England in 2022. Ashwin played his last Test against Australia in Adelaide. This match was played from 6th December this year.

Ashwin took his last international wicket against Australia in Adelaide. He dismissed Mitchell Marsh in the second test played between India and Australia. Marsh came to bat in the first innings for Australia. He was out on a personal score of 9 runs. Rishabh Pant had taken his catch. Ashwin could not play in Brisbane after this test. He was not a part of the playing eleven of Team India.

Ashwin is the player who has won the most Player of the Series awards in Tests. Along with this, he is at 7th place in terms of taking most wickets in Tests. He is second in the list of Indian bowlers. Apart from scoring a century, Ashwin has also taken five wickets in the same Test innings. Team India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has also done this. Ashwin has taken 537 wickets in Tests and 156 wickets in ODIs.
