Paush Month Vrat Festival 2024: The month of Paush has started from today, this month is dedicated to Sun God and ancestors. It is believed that Pind Daan, Tarpan and Shraddha rituals performed for the peace of the ancestors’ souls provide freedom from the bondage of birth and death.

16 December 2024 – Pausha month starts
18 December 2024 – Akhurath Sankashti Chaturthi
This will be the last Sankashti Chaturthi of the year 2024. This fast is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Worshiping him brings happiness and prosperity.
22 December 2024 – Kalashtami
26 December 2024 – Saphala Ekadashi
This will be the last Ekadashi of this year. Due to the effect of Saphala Ekadashi fast, the seeker gets freedom from sinful deeds, all the tasks get accomplished and successful.
28 December 2024 – Pradosh Vrat
29 December 2024 – Masik Shivratri
30 December 2024 – Paush Amavasya, Somvati Amavasya
This year, Paush Amavasya is coinciding with Somvati Amavasya. It is believed that by fasting on this day one gets the blessing of unbroken good fortune. This entire month is also called Chhota Pitrapaksha. Amavasya date is considered special for offering prayers to ancestors.

6 January 2025 – Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti
On this day, the last and tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh, was born. It was he who established the Khalsa sect to protect the religion.
10 January 2025 – Baikuntha Ekadashi, Pausha Putrada Ekadashi
