English commentator Isa Guha has now apologized for his ‘primate’ comment. He says that his aim was only to give respect to Jasprit Bumrah. The word ‘primate’ is seen to mean a human being with a large brain. But it became a cause of controversy because the mention of ‘Vanar’ brought back memories of the ‘Monkeygate Scandal’ that took place in 2008. Actually, in 2008, a match was being played between India and Australia in Sydney. At that time, India’s legendary spin bowler Harbhajan Singh was accused of addressing Andrew Symonds as ‘monkey’.
At that time, Harbhajan Singh was suspended for three matches for violating the rules.
