Competitive examinations have been surrounded by questions this year. Somewhere in the year 2024, there are allegations of paper leak and some exam got leaked on the dark web. But now a new case has come to light. You will be surprised to know this. You may have seen extra marks for good handwriting on TV or in movies, but have you seen this happening in reality?
Actually, Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board has done it. The final result of Forest and Jail Recruitment Examination has been released by the board. In the result released by the board, a candidate has been given 101.66 marks. The name of the candidate who has got more than 101 marks is Raja Bhaiya Prajapati. Jyoti Sahu’s name is at second place after Raja Bhaiya Prajapati, he has got 96.79 marks.
Ravindra Singh Gurjar, who stood third, has got 95.96 marks. Some people were shocked to see the matter and said that frauds are going on in the name of normalization. No recruitment is being done properly. On the other hand, the selection board has said that the process of normalization has been adopted in this examination as per the rules. Due to which applicants can get more than integer (100) marks and less than zero marks.
What is normalization?
Experts say that normalization is when the number of candidates in an exam is more then it is conducted on different days or in two shifts. Different question papers are prepared for everyone. If the average marks of the candidates who appeared in the first shift is less or the attempts are also less then it is considered as a difficult paper. In this the average marks of the candidates remain low.
At the same time, if the candidates appearing in the second shift have more marks or more attempts then it is considered easy. Then comes the turn to prepare the overall result. Which is prepared on the basis of average marks. This process itself is called normalization.
