Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will organize special exams for students participating in sports and Olympiads. Regarding this, a notice has also been issued on the official website of CBSE, Cbse.nic.in, according to which this special examination will be conducted within 15 days of the end of the board examination. CBSE has taken this initiative to encourage youth in sports.
This examination is being conducted from March 2018
Let us tell you that in March 2018, CBSE had started giving the opportunity of special examination to the students of class 10th and 12th participating in board exams and national/international sports, which is continuing. Students who are interested in sports and Olympiads do not suffer from any loss in their studies through special exams. From the year 2020, the board started giving the opportunity of special exam to the students participating in International Olympiad. However, to avail this benefit, CBSE has set some rules and time limits.
Only students of this exam get benefit
It is noteworthy that this provision applies only to the main theory board examination. Practical exams are not included under this. This provision applies to those students whose CBSE main board exam dates fall between sports events or travel related to them sanctioned by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) or the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Such students are considered eligible for this opportunity. Similarly, students participating in International Olympiads recognized by Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education (HBCSE) can also avail the benefit of special examination system.
Applications will be submitted by this day
Students will have to submit certificates issued by recognized authorities like SAI, BCCI or HBCSE to the schools, after which the schools will have to submit the application to CBSE by December 31, 2024. The approval information from the CBSE Regional Office will be given to the schools by January 15, 2025, upon acceptance of which special examinations will be conducted within 15 days of the conduct of the board exams.
