Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 Delhi Team: Delhi team has created history in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024. Delhi has become the first cricket team whose all 11 players have bowled in a T20 match. Delhi team achieved this feat in the match against Manipur, which was played at Wankhede Stadium. In this encounter, Manipur had chosen to bat first, on the other hand, Delhi captain Ayush Badoni entered the field with a different strategy.
Captain Ayush Badoni is a wicketkeeper by profession, but the surprising thing was that he also bowled 2 overs. Another interesting topic was that despite not being a professional bowler, Badoni made an over maiden. Harsh Tyagi, Digvesh Rathi and Mayank Rawat bowled three overs each for Delhi. Altogether 11 players bowled, against whom the Manipur team could score only 120 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Let us tell you that Delhi won this match by 4 wickets with 9 balls remaining.
Five out of 11 bowlers took wickets
11 players bowled for Delhi, out of which Harsh Tyagi and Digvesh Rathi bowled lethally with excellent economy rate and took two wickets each. Apart from captain Ayush Badoni, Priyansh Arya and Ayush Singh also took one wicket each. A total of 8 wickets fell for Manipur in the innings, meanwhile the team’s opening batsman Ulenyai Khawairakpam was run out.
Earlier in T20 cricket, many teams had used 9 bowlers. This incident also reminds us of a test match of the Indian team when Team India was playing against West Indies in the year 2002 under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly. In that match, captain Sourav Ganguly made 10 other players including himself bowl. This match was played in May 2002, which ended in a draw. But due to 11 bowlers, this match was much talked about.
