South Africa vs Sri Lanka 1st Test: Marco Jansen has recently been bought by Punjab Kings. He was sold for Rs 7 crore in the mega auction of IPL 2025. Johnson is a lethal bowler of South Africa. He has done wonders right after the auction. Jansen took 7 wickets in the first innings of the ongoing match between South Africa and Sri Lanka in Durban. Sri Lanka surrendered before his lethal bowling.

South Africa had scored 191 runs till all out in the first innings. In response to this, the Sri Lankan team came on the field for batting. The first bid on Johnson was made by Mumbai Indians. After this Punjab also joined the race. Mumbai made the last bid of Rs 2.40 crore. After this Gujarat Titans entered the bid. Gujarat made the last bid of Rs 6.75 crore. After this Punjab won.

Marco Johnson was a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad last season. He has played 21 matches in IPL so far. During this period 20 wickets have been taken. His best performance in a match has been taking 3 wickets for 25 runs.
