PCB Chairman on ICC Champions Trophy 2025: The tussle continues between India and Pakistan regarding Champions Trophy 2025. Now Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Raza Naqvi has again targeted India. In a press conference held on 28 November, Naqvi said that Team India’s decision of not coming to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy is unacceptable. Referring to the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup, the PCB Chairman said that the Pakistan team had reached India to play the World Cup tournament without any demands. Mohsin Naqvi says that he wants the welfare of Pakistan cricket. He is constantly in touch with senior ICC officials and is trying to organize the entire Champions Trophy tournament in Pakistan.
Mohsin Raza Naqvi said in the press conference, “I promise that I will do everything that will be in the interest of Pakistan cricket. I am in touch with the ICC Chairman and my team is constantly talking to him. This is absolutely unacceptable.” We have made our stand clear before the ICC that we should go to play in India but whatever happens will happen on the basis of equality.
No reply received from BCCI
Let us remind you that a few weeks ago, PCB had asked the Indian Government and BCCI the reason why it did not want to send its team to Pakistan. It is clear that the Indian government has taken the decision not to send its team across the border due to security reasons. Meanwhile, Mohsin Raza Naqvi told in the same press conference that till now BCCI has not explained in writing why the Indian team does not want to come to Pakistan.
Meeting to be held on 29th November
The schedule of Champions Trophy 2025 has also not been released yet. ICC has called a board meeting on this matter on 29th November. The most important issue in this meeting may be the schedule, on the other hand, amidst the conflict between India and Pakistan, a big decision can also be taken on the hybrid model.
