Lalit Modi Shashi Tharoor ED: Former Indian Premier League chairman Lalit Modi has now made serious allegations against Congress leader Shashi Tharoor. He has made a big claim saying that Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar had illegally taken 25 percent stake in the former IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala. He says that 25 percent stake was given to a woman named Sunanda for free. A video of Lalit Modi has surfaced on Instagram. When he saw the list of owners of Kochi Tuskers Kerala, he was shocked. This name was of Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar.
Lalit Modi alleged, “Sunanda Pushkar’s contribution in the team’s $50 million agreement was zero, yet she was asked to give 25 percent stake in the team for free. Another shocking thing is the team’s revenue. 15 percent was going to go to Sunanda, I said that I will not sign this agreement, immediately I get a call from Sunanda Pushkar. Don’t you dare ask about it, if you do so, I will have an ED raid on you tomorrow. Income Tax will arrest you and you will be jailed.”
History of Kochi Tuskers Kerala
Kochi Tuskers Kerala team was formed in the year 2010, but it was disbanded the very next year. In the year 2010, the management of Kochi Tuskers complained to BCCI that Lalit Modi was harassing them. Kochi’s team played only one season, when it finished eighth in the points table in IPL 2011. As far as Lalit Modi is concerned, after the complaint of Kochi team, BCCI had suspended him on 22 charges including money laundering and betting.
