The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy rain in many parts of Tamil Nadu. According to the department, the depression formed in the South West Bay of Bengal has rapidly taken the form of a deep depression and now it can turn into a cyclonic storm ‘Fengal’ on Wednesday, November 27. The effect of this storm will be seen in many areas of the state, due to which the rain situation may become more serious.
The Meteorological Department has quoted Chennai-based Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) as saying that there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in districts like Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpet and Cuddalore on November 27 and 28. . For this reason, the administration has decided to keep schools and colleges closed in these areas. Holidays have been declared in Chennai, Chengalpet, Cuddalore and Mayiladuthurai from November 27.
Apart from this, schools and colleges will also remain closed in districts like Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai and Thiruvarur in view of the bad weather conditions. Indications of the impact of rain had started appearing in these areas since Tuesday, and now the situation may become more serious.

The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain in many areas of Tamil Nadu, which is likely to continue till November 28. However, there are chances of intermittent heavy and heavy rains. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Cuddalore and Mayiladuthurai, in which extremely heavy rains are expected.

Yellow alert issued
Yellow alert has been issued for Chennai city, warning of heavy rain. This alert will be effective from Wednesday to Friday. Along with this, yellow and orange alert has been issued in Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur and Chengalpet districts from Wednesday to Saturday. There is a possibility of heavy rain in these districts also, due to which life may be affected.
