Jasprit Bumrah Record Steve Smith: Jasprit Bumrah broke the back of Australian batsmen in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy being played in Perth. By the end of the day, Australia, batting in its first innings, lost 7 wickets, out of which 4 wickets were in the name of Bumrah. With these wickets, Bumrah set a record which only one bowler had made before, that is, now Bumrah became only the second bowler in the world to do so.
Actually, Bumrah sent Australian batsman Steve Smith to the pavilion on a golden duck. Before this, only former South African fast bowler Dale Steyn had dismissed Steve Smith for a golden duck in a Test. Now Bumrah’s name has also been included in this list. The thing to note is that this was Steve Smith’s first golden duck in a home test. Both the bowlers showed Smith the way to the pavilion through LBW on a gold duck.
Bumrah took two wickets consecutively
Bumrah dismissed two batsmen consecutively. First he sent left-handed batsman Usman Khawaja to the pavilion. Then on the next ball, Bumrah showed Steve Smith the way to the pavilion with a golden duck. Bumrah showed the way to the pavilion to Khawaja through catch and to Smith through LBW.
Bumrah did wonders on the very first day
On the first day of the test, Team India won the toss and decided to bat and the team was bundled out for 150 runs. Then the Australian team, which came out to bat in its first innings, also appeared very weak in batting. Host Australia lost 7 wickets for 67 runs by the end of the day. During this, Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah took 4 wickets in his name. Bumrah made Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Nathan McSweeney and Australian captain Pat Cummins his victims.
