The 2025 season will be played from March 14 to May 25, the next season will start on March 15 and the final will be played on May 31. Apart from this, the date of IPL 2027 has also been revealed, which will start on March 14 and continue till May 30.
According to a report by ESPN Cricinfo, all the franchises were informed about the start dates of the next three seasons through e-mail. Official confirmation can be given on these dates very soon. Like the last three seasons, a total of 74 matches will be played in the IPL 2025 season. With this, the number of matches can be increased in the next seasons. There will be 84 matches in IPL 2026 and the number of matches can be increased to 94 in the 2027 season. Media rights could be the reason for increasing the number of matches. If we remember IPL 2024, this tournament started from 22nd March till 26th May, in the final of which KKR defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Bat-bat of foreign players
It is good news for all the 10 franchises of IPL that almost all the full ICC member countries have allowed their players to play in IPL for the next three seasons. Let us tell you that before the 2025 mega auction, BCCI had issued a new rule book. Under this, if any foreign player does not become a part of the mega auction, then he will not be able to play the next two seasons. On the other hand, if a foreign player withdraws his name after being bought in the auction, there is a provision for him to face a ban of two years.
