Best 11 Players in Test Cricket: Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 is just about to start and the excitement about this series is at its peak, especially in the Australian media. The series will start from November 22, but before that, Australian players were seen discussing together, where they have prepared the best playing eleven of Test cricket at present. A total of four Indian players including Virat Kohli have been included in the playing eleven.
According to Australian players, the pairing of Rohit Sharma and Usman Khawaja can prove fatal for opening in Test cricket. Both Rohit and Usman are players of different nature, but an experienced opening pair like them can prove to be the strongest link of any team. Joe Root and Steve Smith have been placed at third and fourth positions respectively. Together, these two have scored more than 22 thousand runs and scored a total of 67 centuries in Test cricket.
Virat Kohli has been given the fifth number, for whom 2024 has been bad in Test matches but he also has more than 9,000 runs and 29 centuries to his name in this format. After him will come Travis Head, who has been performing brilliantly in all three formats for the last 2-3 years. Rishabh Pant has also got a place, who is currently the sixth ranked batsman in the world in Tests.
As far as the subject of bowling is concerned, the Australian players have given place to their current captain Pat Cummins. Under his captaincy, Australia won the 2023 World Test Championship. Along with him, the responsibility of fast bowling will be handled by South African bowler Kagiso Rabada and India’s Jasprit Bumrah. Rabada is currently the world’s number-1 bowler in Tests and Bumrah is at third position. The only spinner in the playing eleven will be Nathan Lyon, who has taken 530 wickets in Test cricket history.
