KL Rahul Freedom Lucknow Super Giants: When the retention list of Lucknow Super Giants came out for IPL 2025, KL Rahul’s name was missing. Last season, after LSG was out of the tournament, the video of Rahul and team owner Sanjeev Goenka went viral. Therefore, speculations were being made that Rahul was released due to bad relations with the team management. Now Rahul himself has broken his silence on this subject.
KL Rahul said, “I wanted to make a fresh start. I wanted to go to a place where I can play with complete freedom. The team environment will be different, sometimes you need such a change, which is good for you.” I have been out of the T20 team for a long time.”
KL Rahul’s future plan
KL Rahul has not played any T20 match for the Indian team in the last two years. He was last seen playing a T20 match for Team India in November 2022. Expressing hope of returning to the Indian team after 24 months, he said, “I know where I am as a player and I know what I have to do to make a comeback. I am looking forward to this upcoming IPL season on such a platform.” I am looking at it as a way to enjoy my game. My aim is to make a comeback in the Indian T20 team.”
Let us remind you that Lucknow Super Giants team was started in 2022. KL Rahul captained LSG for three consecutive seasons and also took the team to the playoffs twice. But in 2024 this team stood at seventh place. After the huge defeat against SRH, the video of team owner Sanjeev Goenka venting his anger on Rahul had gone viral. At present, Rahul would be focusing on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, because in the absence of Rohit Sharma, he may get a chance to open with Yashasvi Jaiswal in the first Test.
