This malware is difficult to detect because it looks like popular apps.
Toxic Panda malware is part of the malware family named TgToxic, and its main purpose is to cause financial losses. It is specifically designed to access OTPs by abusing the accessibility features of Android phones, giving hackers complete control of the transaction.
How does ToxicPanda attack?
According to researchers, this malware enters your phone when you download apps from third party websites instead of official app stores like Google Play or Galaxy Store. At present it is not clear who has developed it, but it is believed that its source is in Hong Kong.
What is the way to avoid it?
If you want to keep your device and bank account safe, always download apps from official app stores like Google Play Store or Galaxy Store. Avoid downloading apps from unknown third party sites, as this increases the risk of malware attacks. Also, update your phone immediately when the software update comes from the company, so that the security features remain strong.
