Ravichandran Ashwin Sledding BGT 2020-21 Tim Paine: Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 was played on Australian soil, in which Team India won 2-1. Wicketkeeper batsman Tim Paine was the captain of Australia during this series. Paine sledged India’s star spinner R Ashwin in the third Test played in Sydney. Even today, Penn has no regrets about the sledging he did with Ashwin.
Penn told that Ashwin was getting him out again and again, due to which he has no regrets about sledging. Paine said that he was getting irritated by Ashwin’s repeated dismissals.
Penn talked about the sledging he did with Ashwin on Thegradecricketer podcast. During Ashwin’s batting, Paine had said to Ashwin from behind the wicket, “I can’t wait to bring you to Gabba Ashwin, I tell you what, wow.”
On the podcast, Penn told why he does not regret sledging with Ashwin. Paine said, “I haven’t till date because Ashwin did not play in that match (Gabba, Brisbane). I was not talking to the Indians, I was talking to them. I said that I would like to bring you to the Gabba. Can’t wait.”
Paine further said, “Because he was teasing me, to be honest, he is a brilliant cricketer. He was getting me out and that was teasing me.”
Let us tell you that Ashwin had also replied to Paine on sledging. Ashwin had said, “Like we can’t wait to bring you to India. That will be your last series.”
India had won the series till it won the Gabba Test.
Let us tell you that in the last test of the series played in Gabba, Team India won the series by 3 wickets. India won the four-match series 2-1.
