The schedule of cricket’s most prestigious and historical test series Ashes 2025-26 between Australia and England has been announced. This exciting five-match series will start from 21 November 2025 in Perth and end in Sydney on 8 January 2026. Cricket Australia has confirmed the dates and venues of all the matches of this series.
When and where will the Ashes 2025-26 be played
The series will start with the first Test to be played at Perth Stadium from 21 to 25 November. After this, the second Test will be played in day-night format at Gabba Stadium in Brisbane from 4 to 8 December. The third match will be played at the Adelaide Oval from 17 to 21 December, while the traditional Boxing Day Test will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from 26 to 30 December. The last and decisive Test will be held as the New Year Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) from January 4 to 8, 2026.

So far, 73 Ashes series have been played between England and Australia, out of which Australia has won 34 times, while England has won 32 times. Seven series have ended in a draw.
Both the teams have made a record of winning eight consecutive times in the Ashes. England achieved this feat from 1882-83 to 1890, during which time England won 16 Test matches and lost only four matches.
It is noteworthy that Australia has retained the Ashes trophy in 2023 after a 2-2 draw series with England. Now it remains to be seen which team captures the Ashes trophy in 2025-26.
