SL vs WI 2nd T20I Highlights: These days a three-match T20 series is being played between Sri Lanka and West Indies. The second T20 of the series was played last Tuesday (October 15) at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla. By winning the match, Sri Lanka avenged the defeat suffered by West Indies in the first T20.
West Indies won by 5 wickets in the first T20 of the series. Then in the second T20, Sri Lanka retained the series by defeating West Indies by 73 runs. Now the third and last T20 will be played as the final, in which the winning team will win the series.
West Indies team lost badly in the second T20
The West Indies team, which had registered a spectacular victory in the first T20, had to face a crushing defeat in the second match of the series. After winning the toss and opting to bat, Sri Lanka scored 162/5 runs on the board in 20 overs. Pathum Nissanka played the biggest innings for the team and scored 54 runs in 49 balls with the help of 9 fours and 1 six. During this period, Romaria Shepherd took maximum 2 wickets for West Indies.
West Indies flopped in run chase
West Indies, chasing the target, was all out for 89 runs in 16.1 overs. Captain Rovman Powell played the biggest inning of 20 runs for the team. West Indies, while chasing the target, could not get a good start. The team started losing wickets from the very beginning. The first blow to the team came in the form of Brandon King on the score of 12 runs in the third over. Then Evin Lewis was out in the next over. After this, Roston Chase returned to the pavilion in the next over. Similarly, the team lost wickets quickly.
During this period, Dunith Vellalage took maximum 3 wickets for Sri Lanka. Apart from this, captain Charith Asalanka, Mahish Teekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga took 2 wickets each. The remaining one success went to Mathisha Pathirana.
