Competition Commission of India: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) in its report has made serious allegations of collusion between Samsung, Xiaomi, Amazon and Flipkart. CCI has said in its report that customers are facing problems due to the secret agreement of these companies. Online retail platforms Amazon and Flipkart are working against the competition laws of CCI. These e-commerce platforms promote only certain companies.
Secret agreements have been made with Amazon and Flipkart
According to a Reuters report, the Competition Commission of India has said that our investigation revealed that many companies like Samsung and Xiaomi have made secret agreements with Amazon and Walmart-owned Flipkart. Amazon and Flipkart launch the products of these companies exclusively. They give priority to such companies only. Other companies are being harmed through their listings and discounts.
All these companies are accused of violating competition law
In its 1,027-page report, CCI has said that Amazon has exclusively launched phones from Samsung, Xiaomi, Realme, Motorola and OnePlus. This has violated competition laws. On the other hand, in a 1,696-page report about Flipkart, it has been said that it has acted against the law by entering into similar agreements with Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Vivo, Lenovo and Realme. These allegations against Samsung and Xiaomi are serious and can increase their troubles.
Exclusive contracts are against free and fair competition
In the report on Amazon and Flipkart, CCI’s Additional Director General GV Siva Prasad has written that exclusive contracts are like a curse in business. This is completely against the interests of consumers. This not only harms consumers but also free and fair competition does not remain in the market.
