BCCI Secretary Election: The date of elections in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been revealed. These elections are to be held on 29 September. Although the election for the post of secretary is not on the agenda of the BCCI Annual General Meeting (BCCI AGM) to be held in Bengaluru on 29 September, the board has released the election schedule and asked the state associations to submit their candidates.
According to media reports, Roger Binny is expected to remain the president for another term. At the same time, elections should be held for the vacant secretary post in the board. Current BCCI secretary Jay Shah has become the chairman of the ICC. He will take over as ICC chairman from December 1.
Let us tell you that the election program is mainly for the election of two members in the IPL Governing Council besides a representative of the Indian Cricketers Association. If the election of the secretary is not included in the Annual General Meeting, then the BCCI will have to call a special Annual General Meeting after December 1 for the replacement of Jay Shah.
Who can become a secretary?
After Jay Shah, some people are seen in the race to become BCCI secretary, the first name in which is Delhi District and Cricket Association President Rohan Jaitley. However, when Rohan Jaitley was questioned about this, he did not give any answer.
Apart from this, current IPL chairman Arun Dhumal is also seen in the race for the secretary. However, for this he will have to take a cooling off period as per the BCCI constitution. Apart from this, the board’s treasurer Ashish Shelar is also seen in the race for the secretary. At present, nothing is clear about the post.
BCCI directed all state associations to submit the names of the candidates
