Rahul Dravid Appointed as Rajasthan Royals Head Coach: On Friday, September 6, Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the new head coach of Rajasthan Royals. Dravid has not only played for this team in the IPL but has also worked as a mentor. Let us remind you that after India’s historic victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, Dravid resigned from the post of head coach of Team India. He will now be seen serving the RR franchise in IPL 2025.
Apart from Rahul Dravid, the Rajasthan Royals team will also get the support of Kumar Sangakkara. Sangakkara, who has been associated with the Rajasthan team since 2022, will be the Director of Cricket of the RR franchise in the upcoming season. Only time will tell whether the jugalbandi of both the great cricketers will change the fortunes of the Rajasthan team or not. Rajasthan Royals have confirmed the appointment of Rahul Dravid as the head coach through their social media account. A video was shared, in which Dravid was seen in the jersey of the Rajasthan team and also said ‘Halla Bol’.

Will return to this team after 10 years
Rahul Dravid played for Rajasthan Royals as a player from 2011-2013. He played 46 matches for RR in his playing career, in which he scored 1,276 runs at an average of 29.67. During this time, he also played 7 half-century innings. In 2013, he also said goodbye to his IPL career, but the next year i.e. in 2014, he was the mentor of the Rajasthan team. That means Dravid is going to return to the RR team again after 10 years in IPL.
Rahul Dravid left RR after IPL 2014 and a few years later he also mentored Delhi Capitals/Daredevils. If we look at his IPL career as a player, he scored 2,174 runs in 89 matches which included 11 fifties.
