IPL 2025: Lucknow Super Giants has made an important change in the team before IPL 2025. Lucknow has appointed Zaheer Khan as the mentor of the team. Gautam Gambhir was in this position before Zaheer. Lucknow owner Sanjiv Goenka has also responded on the matter of KL Rahul. There was a rumor that Lucknow would not retain Rahul. But on this Goenka has said that Rahul is an important part of the Lucknow Super Giants family. There is still a lot of time to take a decision on any matter.
After Lucknow made Zaheer the mentor, Sanjiv Goenka responded on the KL Rahul issue. According to RevSportz, Goenka said, “KL Rahul is an important part of the Super Giants family. I will not talk about any kind of rumor. There is still a lot of time to take a decision on the matter of captaincy and retention.” Sanjiv Goenka was not happy with the team’s performance in the last season of IPL. He even spoke rudely to Rahul after losing a match.
LSG could not do anything special last season –
KL Rahul has performed well so far. But the Lucknow team could not do anything special last season. Lucknow was at number 7 in the points table of IPL 2024. It played 14 matches and won 7. But in 2023 the team performed brilliantly. Lucknow played 14 matches and won 8. At the same time, it faced defeat in 5 matches. Lucknow reached the playoffs.

If we look at Rahul’s IPL career, he has played 132 matches so far. During this, he has scored 4683 runs. Rahul has scored 4 centuries and 37 half-centuries in this league. Rahul scored 520 runs in 14 matches of IPL 2024. During this, he scored 4 half-centuries. Now if Rahul is removed from the captaincy, then Krunal Pandya can get the responsibility in his place.
