7th Pay Commission: The wait of government employees is going to end soon and they are going to get the gift of increased dearness allowance from the central government. Dearness allowance increases twice every year and it is decided in January and July. This time the month of October has come and till now there has been no announcement from the Central Government to increase the fixed dearness allowance for July. However, this time it is being said that government employees are going to get the gift of increase in dearness allowance even before Diwali.
Dearness allowance will increase between 3 to 4 percent
According to new reports, the central government may increase dearness allowance by 3-4 percent this time. Government employees will get this gift even before the occasion of Diwali. If you look at it according to the minimum salary, you will find that those with a basic salary of Rs 18,000 can see an increase of Rs 540 to Rs 720 every month.
For those getting a salary of Rs 30,000, if the basic salary is Rs 18,000, then the way for their DA (dearness allowance) can be increased by Rs 9,000. If there is an increase of 3 percent then an increase of Rs 9540 can be seen in it. Due to increase in DA by 4%, an increase of Rs 9720 can be seen every month.
When will I get the increased allowance?
From July 1, 2024, government employees will get increased dearness allowance as it happens every year after the second DA hike.
Why does dearness allowance increase twice a year?
To overcome the rising inflation, dearness allowance is increased twice a year and for this, if we look at the current level of dearness allowance or dearness allowance, it covers one crore central government employees. Whereas Dearness Relief (DR) is extended for pensioners. The last change in DA for government employees took place in March 2024. At that time the Central Government increased DA by 4 percent, making it 50 percent of the basic pay. DR for pensioners was also increased by 4 percent.
