IPL 2025 Mega Auction Shocking Buys: Crores of rupees are flowing like water in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has made Rishabh Pant the most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League by purchasing him for Rs 27 crore. Apart from them, the bid of Rs 26.75 crore on Shreyas Iyer has created a sensation, he was bought by Punjab Kings. But till now there are some names in the auction which could have been sold at a very high price but the teams have made huge profits for themselves by buying them very cheaply.
1. KL Rahul – Rs 14 crore (Delhi Capitals)
KL Rahul was released by Lucknow Supergiants after IPL 2024. He has been a captain, a world-class wicketkeeper and also a top batsman. Given so much talent, the bid for him was expected to be at least Rs 20-25 crore. But Delhi Capitals has made a very good purchase by buying him for just Rs 14 crore.
2. Gleam Maxwell – 4.20 crore (Punjab Kings)
Glenn Maxwell was playing for RCB since 2020 and he got a salary of Rs 11 crore for playing the last season. But this time Punjab Kings have bought him for just Rs 4.20 crore. Maxwell was last seen playing for Punjab in 2017.
3. Rachin Ravindra – 4 crores (CSK)
Rachin Ravindra made his IPL debut last season playing for Chennai Super Kings. Last season, he scored 222 runs for CSK in 10 matches. He came into limelight because of his strike rate of more than 160. Considering Ravindra’s growing stature in international cricket, the amount of Rs 4 crore appears very low.
4. Aiden Markram – 2 Crore (LSG)
Aiden Markram is the current captain of the South African team. He has been bought by Lucknow Super Giants for his base price i.e. Rs 2 crore. Markram has also captained Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL and his cricket IQ is excellent. Despite this, no one bid more than Rs 2 crore on it.
5. Mitchell Marsh – Rs 3.40 crore (LSG)
Mitchell Marsh is famous for making big hits in batting and has been consistently taking wickets with bowling as well. He has taken 666 runs and 37 wickets in his IPL career.
