For IPL 2025, all the teams have to prepare their respective retention lists and submit them to BCCI by 31st October. With the return of the uncapped player rule, many veteran players can be retained as uncapped players.
MS Dhoni played the last international match for India in 2019. He has been playing for India for more than 5 years, hence CSK will retain him as an uncapped player in the auction. For this he will get a salary of Rs 4 crore.
Mohit Sharma has not returned to the Indian team after September 2015. Mohit has been playing for Gujarat Titans since 2023 and this time GT can retain him as an uncapped player. Last season he took a total of 13 wickets.
Sandeep Sharma has also not played any international match after 2015. RR can retain him as an uncapped player for IPL 2024. If this happens then Sandeep will get 8 times the salary as compared to IPL 2024.
Piyush Chawla returned to Mumbai Indians in 2023 and has taken a total of 35 wickets in the last two seasons. Piyush has a wealth of experience. Chawla played his last match for India in 2012.
Amit Mishra has taken more than 150 wickets in his international career, but after February 2017, he has not been seen playing for Team India. Last season, he played only one match, in which he took only one wicket while playing for LSG.
